Metamora man facing drug charges after probation visit

(METAMORA, Ind.) – A Metamora man is facing new charges after a probation visit on Friday.

Franklin County Deputy Brad Lecher and Franklin County Probation Officers stopped by a home in the 17000 block of U.S. 52.

They were attempting to make contact with 39-year-old Michael Davidson.

Authorities say they located Davidson arriving at his house, but he allegedly fled on foot.

“Deputy Lecher initiated a foot chase, which prompted additional Sheriff’s Deputies and Officers from the Brookville Police Department. Davidson was taken into custody a short distance from his home,” investigators said.

According to police, Davidson was in possession of a substance believed to be meth.

Davidson was lodged in the Franklin County Jail on felony and misdemeanor charges related to drug possession and resisting arrest.

All charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

The sheriff’s department was assisted by The Brookville Police Department.
