Milan, BHS turnovers net $25K for student food program

Turnover Hunger benefits less fortunate kids in Ripley County

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) -- The Milan and Batesville football programs participated in the annual Turnover Hunger program through the Ripley County Community Foundation this season.

Each time the teams initiated a turnover, a donation was made to the The Weekend Back Sack Program, which provides a backpack of food on the weekends for less fortunate elementary school students in Ripley County.

This year, there were 53 turnovers which led to a donation of $25,000 that will provide meals to over 250 kids.

It means $5,000 will be distributed to help kids at Batesville Primary School, Jac-Cen-Del Elementary School, Milan Elementary School, South Ripley Elementary School, and Sunman Elementary School.

The Weekend Backpack Program relies solely upon charitable donations.

You can get involved by contacting either football program or by clicking here.
