Roell wins Midwest Sprint Car Championship, Rookie of the Year
(HAUPSTADT, Ind.) -- She's not old enough to legally drive a vehicle but Kayla Roell is already making a name for herself on the race track!
The 15-year-old Milan student spent the summer racing a 410 Sprint Engine and completed a milestone this weekend.
Roell became the youngest champion ever of the Midwest Sprint Car Series on Saturday by accumulating the most points this season.
She was also named Rookie of the Year by the racing series.
"Entering my first season in a 410 Sprint Car, my goal was learning, and finishing races consistently. With any luck- a rookie award, maybe a top 5 in points," Kayla said.
"Instead we, as a team did Both! Midwest Sprint Car Series points championship, and rookie of the year!!"
