Pregnant woman showed up at firehouse
(MOORES HILL, Ind.) – Most emergencies require first responders to leave the fire station and rush somewhere else.
The emergency showed up at the doorstep of Moores Hill Fire & Rescue on October 25.
EMT Sarah Jones and Alexus Sevier were at the firehouse when a woman walked in who was in labor.
They called for a medic from Lawrenceburg EMS and together they helped deliver a baby boy in the back of the ambulance.
“Thank you Lawrenceburg EMS for allowing your medic to intercept with us, not just on this call but the many calls we need assistance with. This one was extra special because our medic was a Moores Hill native, Nathan Batchelor,” Moores Hill Fire said.
Jones, Sevier and Batchelor each received a Stork Pin in recognition of their efforts.
Moores Hill Fire confirmed that the woman and baby are doing well.
