North Decatur, Switz Co. student to perform at Poetry Out Loud competition

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Two local high schoolers will compete at the Poetry Out Loud state competition this weekend. 

North Decatur's Allison Whitaker will compete and so will Switzerland County junior River Graves.

They will recite their poems in front of a panel of judges on Saturday, March 2.

The winner of the state finals will advance to the national competition in Washington, D.C. later this spring.

If either wins the state level, they will receive $200 and an all-expense paid trip to D.C. for the finals. The state runner-up receives $100.
