Induction will be held this Saturday
(OLDENBURG, Ind.) – Oldenburg Academy is announcing three new inductees into the Ammann-Brinkmoeller Athletic Hall of Fame.
The inductees are 2015 graduate Matthew Hurm, 2012 graduate Justin Ahaus and Coach Gary “Ace” Moorman.
Hurm was a standout soccer, basketball and baseball player and set multiple hoops records. He maintains the high career free throw percentage and is ranked in the top 10 for scoring, rebounding, assists, steals, free throws, three pointers and blocks.
Justin Ahaus made a lasting impact on the baseball program where dominated on the mound. He hold several pitching records including innings pitched, ERA, strikeouts and wins. At the plate, he also ranks in the top five in on-base percentage, at-bats, hits, batting average, walks, and doubles.
Gary “Ace” Moorman compiled a 137-113 record as the basketball coach for 13 years. He led the Twisters to their first-ever sectional title in 2014 and then again in 2020. That last season was cut short before the Regionals due to Covid.
The induction ceremony will be held during the Twisters home game at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, January 4.
