(VEVAY, Ind.) – Paddlers taking part in a unique canoe trip on the Ohio River spent part of the weekend in Southeast Indiana.

The Ohio River Way Challenge is a 250-mile canoe trip that travels from Portsmouth, Ohio, to Louisville, Kentucky.

The trip rolled into Rising Sun where they spent the night on Friday. They traveled to Vevay and spent the night there on Saturday.

While in Vevay, they had dinner at the Jeff-Craig Fire Department which was served by first responders.

“Then they took in a concert at the historic Hoosier Theater before crashing for the night for an early morning breakfast prepared by John and Latonya Brown,” Switzerland County Town Council member Lane Penick said.
