Students give back to their communities on Friday
(BATESVILLE, Ind.) -- For those unfamiliar, 812 Day corresponds with the date on Saturday, which is August 12.
812 Day is a grassroots approach to encourage people in Southeast Indiana to celebrate the area code by doing what we do best: Helping others.
Greensburg High School students collected 375 non-perishable items and donated to them to the Greensburg Library's Little Free Pantry on Friday.
Oldenburg Academy students took to the streets to give back to their community Friday. The Student Media class went out on the town to spread some positivity and add smiles to those walking the streets with sidewalk chalk drawings and messages.
Great job, both Pirates and Twisters.
Meanwhile, Batesville Products, Inc. in Lawrenceburg gave a $812 donation to the Dearborn County Clearinghouse this week. The company is also responsible for coming up with the 812 Day concept and their digital marketing associate Mary Jutzi designs the shirts!
Here are some other ways organizations are giving back this year.
