Initiative is called 'Go Beyond 4.0' and starts next school year
(OLDENBURG, Ind.) – Oldenburg Academy is announcing a new learning schedule that includes a 4-day school week and ‘Mission Mondays.’
It is called ‘Go Beyond 4.0’ and it will be implemented next school year. The initiative is designed to enhance academic achievement, social responsibility, leadership, and personal and spiritual growth among students.
OA students will be on campus four days a week for rigorous academic instruction and college-preparedness.
Mission Monday’s will consist of different grade levels participating in class retreats, service opportunities, internships, immersive educational experiences, and college visits without missing instructional time.
The Mission Monday initiative will also provide faculty with dedicated time for ongoing professional development to bring innovative teaching practices into their classrooms.
Students will also be able to connect with faculty from 1-3 p.m. for personalized enrichment opportunities.
“At the heart of our mission is a commitment to academic excellence with a focus on servant leadership, encouraging students to lead with integrity and purpose. Our Go Beyond 4.0 initiative celebrates this legacy and reinforces our dedication to our core values of Virtue, Honor, and Education," said OA President Annette Hunger.
Nearly 100% of Oldenburg students pursue a post-secondary education and Principal Angie Parmer says this program will continue to prepare students to thrive in college.
“Our Go Beyond 4.0 program prepares our students for higher education and aligns seamlessly with Indiana’s newly proposed diploma requirements. Mission Monday will significantly enhance the traditional classroom learning experience, reduce classroom interruptions, and allow students and faculty time to connect during enrichment hours,” Parmer said.
