Former EC football and basketball star
(CINCINNATI) – East Central grad Luke Collinsworth is having a successful senior season on the court for Mount St. Joseph University.
Sandy Mahoney of In Motions Sports Photography recently visited with Luke during one of his games.
The former Trojan was a 1,000-point scorer in high school and is the school’s all-time leading rebounder.
He was also a dominant force for the East Central football team, where the 3-star offensive tackle initially took his talents to the University of Cincinnati’s football team. Collinsworth was a member of UC’s 2021 College Football Playoff team.
Luke loved playing football and also loves playing basketball, and decided to trade the football helmet in for a basketball following his freshman season.
“I decided to come to Mount St. Joseph and play basketball while being close to home,” Collinsworth said. “Division 1 football is really nonstop and it’s more like a fulltime job.”
It’s been an easy transition and he says the past three years have been a lot of fun.

Collinsworth has started every game this season and is leading his team in points and rebounds.
He’s majoring in Sports Management and will graduate in the Spring.
Mount St. Joseph is currently 6-4 and will host Franklin on Wednesday night.
