Police: Do not call 9-1-1 to report road conditions

Here's how you can track road conditions

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – Curious about road conditions? Don’t call dispatch centers to find out.

As we get closer to the major winter storm, police are reminding citizens to not bother dispatchers about road conditions.

The phone lines at our dispatch centers need to remain open for emergency calls,” said ISP Sgt. Stephen Wheeles.

Go to 511in.org for a live interactive map where you can see road conditions from around the entire state.  The same information can be found on the INDOT Trafficwise app.

You can see the live view from the stationary INDOT cameras along interstates and state highways.  You can see where the INDOT plow trucks are working and can even see the view from those trucks via their mounted cameras.
