Ohio man killed in semi accident
(BATESVILLE, Ind.) -- Police have identified the semi driver who was killed in an early morning I-74 crash near Batesville Tuesday.
The single-vehicle crash happened around 4:30 a.m. at the Huntersville Road overpass.
55-year-old Osei Boateng, of Grove City, Ohio, was identified as the victim by the Indiana State Police.
Investigators say the semi was traveling westbound when it left the road, went into the median, and collided with the concrete bridge support on the Huntersville Road.
The trailer’s load spilled into the median and the interstate.
The westbound lanes were closed for nearly seven hours for crash investigation and cleanup.
Indiana State Police were assisted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, Batesville Police Department, Batesville Fire Department, and Franklin County Coroner’s Office.
