Police: Man arrested for theft of nearly $8K in military-related items

Investigation began in January

(ST. MARY’S, Ind.) — A man is facing charges after a nearly year-long investigation in Franklin County.

Deputy Brad Lecher began investigating a burglary that had occurred on Pipe Creek Road in the St. Mary’s area back in January.

The suspect allegedly broke into a home and stole $8,000 worth of property. Deputy Lecher said the majority of the property was military-related items.

The investigation led to an arrest warrant being issued for 45-year-old Nickalus Pennington, of Brookville.

Pennington was arrested on Sunday on allegations of burglary as well as resisting arrest.

He is currently being held at the Franklin County Jail.
