Pop’s Diner in Greensburg reopens after fire

Open 7 days a week

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A hometown diner in Greensburg is back open after a fire this winter.

Pop’s Diner is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. every day of the week and is known for their customer service, loyal customers and all-day breakfast menu.

The restaurant had to take a pause when a fire occurred on January 27.

Pop’s Diner owner Doug Puckett recalls the amount of community support they received while they repaired the restaurant.

“I’d say anywhere between 5 and 8 people stopped by everyday asking if we needed anything or offering to help,” he said.

It was a four-month process to reopen the restaurant and some of their customers were invited to a soft opening, to ensure  the menu was top notch, before officially re-opening.

Pop’s Diner is now back open and it continues to serve as a community gathering place for local farmers, students, businessmen and others.

The restaurant is located at 4981 Old Highway 46 in Greensburg. It is located at the intersection of S.R. 46 and S.R. 3.

Puckett is eyeing the future as he plans to expand the restaurant to offer more dining space. He hopes to have that project complete by the fall.
