Ribbon cutting for Lawrenceburg musician's mural Saturday

Community invited to ribbon cutting ceremony

(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) -- The community is invited to the celebration of a new mural that pays homage to local musicians this weekend.

The Southeast Indiana Musician's Association (SEIMA) will cut the ribbon on their mural which is located at Lawrenceburg's Civic Park at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The mural depicts musicians who have ties to the area including Lonnie Mack, Boys from Indiana, Jamey Johnson, Kristen Weber, Ric Wright, Nelson Elliott, Jimmy Thomas and more.

"We just want everybody to know about the rich heritage of music in our area, this is a mecca of music talent and we are honored to work with the City of Lawrenceburg to make this mural a reality," said local musician and SEIMA member Brian 'Biggin' Noble.

SEIMA is a non-profit that was founded in 2001 to honor the exemplary musicians who have resided, and performed music locally in southeastern Indiana.
