Shiners sweep local tournament for first time
(AURORA, Ind.) -- There's only four area schools that offer competitive cheerleading, and they faced off against each other Saturday.
The Rivertown Classic cheer competition marked it's 24th year and was held at South Dearborn High School.
The tournament featured Lawrenceburg, Rising Sun, South Dearborn and Switzerland County and each school had their high school and middle school teams compete.
For the first time in school history, Rising Sun won both the high school and middle school tournament.
It comes just months after the Shiners competed in their third consecutive state championship.
The 812 also spoke with a local fourth grader who attended the competition and hopes to one day cheer for her beloved Shiners.
