(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – There is more snow accumulating than what was originally expected.
Chad Gutzwiller with Weather Wave says some portions of Southeast Indiana could now see upwards of four inches of snow.
This snow system will continue to move over the area for several hours as the edge of it is still over Illinois.
Gutzwiller stresses the importance of using caution while driving. The backroads are snow-covered and drivers are experiencing low visibility in certain areas.
He also said that black ice on main roads could be an issue tonight.
According to Dearborn County dispatch, there have been three traffic collisions between 5:45 and 6 p.m. Friday.
The 812 spoke with a driver on I-74 who counted at least eight cars that were off the road between Shelbyville and Greensburg.
Franklin County has also just issued a Winter Storm Warning at 6:10 p.m.
Gutzwiller shared this graphic with The 812. The area within the red circle could see accumulations of more than 4 inches.
