Siblings compete in National track event in Philly

Both finished within the top 10 

(PHILADELPHIA) – A brother and sister from Greensburg both earned the rare accomplished of qualifying for the New Balance Outdoor Nationals which took place this weekend. 

This marked the final high school event for recent GCHS graduate Emarie Jackson who will throw at the University of Delaware this fall. 

Her brother, Jai is entering the eighth grade, and also qualified for shot put in the middle school division. 

The siblings competed in Philadelphia and left their mark in their respective competitions. 

Emarie finished 3rd in shot put and 5th overall in discus against competitors from across the nation. She also earned All-American status for the second year in a row. 

Jai placed 6th out of 37 competitors from across the country. 

“It was a very cool experience! I’ve watched my sister compete here but didn’t know I’d have the opportunity at this age. It’s fun competing with kids from other states,” Jai said.
