(BURNEY, Ind.) – A small church in Decatur County is hoping to get some assistance.
Burney Methodist Church was founded in 1880 and was once attended by the founder of Burney.
Nowadays, it is a small country church with a tight-knit congregation who focus on the broken.
Their organ is 77-years-old and is in need of immediate repairs. The church is hoping to raise $400 in donations.
“The organ’s reverb is messed up on it, so they have to put another speaker on it. They also have to fix some of the feet pedals,” pastor Dave Hersley.
You can donate by mail or by visiting Cash App and typing in $BurneyChurch238
You can also mail a check to the church which the address is: 1074 South County Road 850 W Greensburg, Indiana 47240.
Pastor Hersley says the church has plans to revitalize the community. They are planning to implement a blessing box in Burney and also open a pantry that offers essential household items.
