Marks the third head coach in program history

(AURORA, Ind.) – South Dearborn High School has hired their third baseball coach in program history.

The school board approved Austin Bowling for the head coaching job on Tuesday.

Bowling is a 2017 Lawrenceburg graduate who was a standout baseball and football player.

He went on to play football at Thomas More, before finding a love for coaching.

Bowling has coached at numerous levels and was an assistant on the Knights staff for Jay Malott in 2022.

“Coach Bowling is dedicated to installing strong values of teamwork, discipline, and determination in young athletes,” said South Dearborn Athletic Director Ryan Walston. “His goal is to inspire and mentor the next generation of baseball players, fostering a love for the sport and helping them achieve their full potential.

Bowling joins Malott and Larry Hornbach as the only three South Dearborn head baseball coaches in 47 years.
