The annual fire truck pull raises money for Special Olympics
(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) -- Raider nation was well represented at the annual Special Olympics Fire Truck Pull in downtown Lawrenceburg Saturday.
The South Ripley High School Raiders Team #2 won the high school competition.
Meanwhile, the other South Ripley team claimed the top spot during the "Lowest Combined Weight Pull Competition" with a time of 57.66 seconds,
Lawrenceburg City employees who had a team name of "Whiskey City Rope Burners" took home the first place trophy in the Fastest Pull Competition.
Special Olympics member Kevin Beiersdorfer was the top individual fundraiser this year.
The team that raised the most money was Borderline Bar & Grill in West Harrison who brought in $2,100!
This event raises money for the Special Olympics of Ripley, Ohio and Dearborn counties.
Participants try to see who can pull a Lawrenceburg fire truck 50 feet in the shortest amount of time. Each team raised a minimum of $500 to be involved.
