The defense returns 9 starters while the offense will have new names
Class 1A Sectional 46
Head coach: Ryan Langferman
Record at Franklin County: 103-69; 16th year at Milan
2022 Record: 5-6; lost to North Decatur 25-14 in the Sectional Tournament
The Milan Indians are another hungry team looking to make a strong impression in 2023. Coach Ryan Langferman, heading into his 16th year as head coach, is the man to mold these athletes.
The offense is fairly young this year after graduating QB Brayden Rohrig and RB Riley Johnson, with tons of first year starters coming in across the board. Keep an eye on the QB competition and who gets the nod for starter at QB between John McKeown and Wyatt Marsh.
Jr RB Austin Green looks to have another solid rushing campaign and improve on his 283 yards and 4 touchdowns. All State Jr TE/LB Ethan Pierce returns to his role next season as well.
On defense, the Indians return 9 starters including the aforementioned Pierce who put on a clinic last season with 87 tackles and 6 sacks amongst other defensive accolades. DB Cameron Gilb returns for his Jr year and is looking to make his presence felt in the secondary this season. These players are ready for the task to replace defensive graduates LB Alec Barker and Alex Wenger.
Be sure to get out and support your Indians in 2023!
