Will compete on Saturday
(VEVAY, Ind.) – A Switzerland County junior will perform at the Poetry Out Loud state competition this weekend.
River Graves will compete with other high school students from across Indiana on Saturday, March 2.
She will recite one of her poems in front of a panel of judges.
The winner of the state finals will advance to the national competition in Washington, D.C. later this spring.
If she wins the state level, she will receive $200 and an all-expense paid trip to D.C. for the finals. The state runner-up receives $100.
Graves will be joined by another local student who will also perform at the competition.
