Switzerland Co. names 2025 Hall of Fame inductees

Two former players and two teams will be inducted

(VEVAY, Ind.) -- Switzerland County High School will induct four new members into the school’s athletic hall of fame in 2025.

Eve Galbreath was a four-sport athlete who played basketball, volleyball, soccer and track. She is currently the third all-time scorer in SCHS basketball history, and was also All-Conference in volleyball and track. Galbreath would go on to have a standout shot put career for Hanover.

The second person that will be inducted is Jim Huff who graduated from Patriot High School in 1966. He helped the baseball, basketball, cross country and track teams each improve their win-loss records to the best it had been in over 15 years.

Huff would go to serve in combat in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart and 2 Bronze Stars. He is still a leader in his community and is a member of the Daviess County Search and Rescue team.

The high school is also inducting the 1925-1926 Patriot High School boys basketball team into the hall of fame.

The team won the Sectional despite not even having their own gymnasium or uniforms. It  was the only Sectional title in Patriot school history which closed in 1968 and consolidated into Switzerland County High School.

The final inductee is the 1926-1927 Vevay High School boys basketball team. That team won the first of what would be six Sectional titles in school history.

A ceremony for the new inductees will be held at the Pacer Varsity Club Dinner at Belterra Casino this coming spring. An exact date has not been announced.
