"It is just the beginning of what we know will be many more historic firsts"
(VEVAY, Ind.) -- The Pacers had a historic night Friday during the opening round of high school football sectionals.
Switzerland County defeated Brown County 28-21 to claim the school's first-ever football sectional game win.
The 812 spoke with Switzerland County head coach Ryan Jesop after the win.
"When I set out to first start building the program my hope was to make a change in young male lives that would be impactful for the school community. This was one of those impactful wins dedicated to all of those individuals who sacrificed so much time behind the scenes to make an experience like tonight happen for our fans and young people," Jesop said.
"It is just the beginning of what we know will be many more historic firsts in our program’s young history," he added.
The Pacers will face Eastern (Pekin) next Friday.
