Annual German festival in Franklin County
(OLDENBURG, Ind.) -- Thousands of people are in the small town of Oldenburg for the annual Freudenfest.
Freudenfest translates to "festival of fun" in German and was started back in 1976.
The festival features German-themed activities, music and food. Some notable traditions are the dachshund race, beer stein holding competitions, chicken toss, kids activities, and of course, beer.
