Toy drive in honor of EC grad Brooklyn Konerman

Updated: Oct 17, 2023

Will deliver presents to Cincinnati Children's on November 3

(ST. LEON, Ind.) -- The family of 19-year-old Brooklyn Konerman wants to bring Christmas joy to patients at Cincinnati Children’s Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.

Last year, Brookyln fought for 106 days in that ICU before she passed away on November 3, 2022.

To honor Brooklyn, her family and friends have organized a toy drive for children at the hospital. They encourage the community to get involved in the drive which we have links listed below.

"We have selected some toys and accessories from the Child Life Wish List they sent to us and a few things that BK did her best to enjoy during her many hospital stays," her mother, Angela Konerman said.

There are 679 items listed which are available for purchase on Amazon and Target

"We are scheduled to drop these items off on November 3rd. A year to the day, that we have been without our sweet girl. I know we can accomplish this with the help of our friends and family," Angela said.

"We all know BK loved her Food Network shows while being inpatient, but she also enjoyed card games, legos and crafts," she added.

If you would like to buy and donate something that is not on the list, Angela said she would be happy to pick the item up if it is local. Items purchased from the list will ship directly to the Konerman family.

Brooklyn graduated from East Central in 2021 and had just completed her first year at Ivy Tech.
