Two charged in Union Co. as result of fentanyl overdose

Part of seven month investigation

(LIBERTY, Ind.) – Union County deputies arrested two people as part of an investigation into a fentanyl overdose. 


38-year-old Daniel Irwin and 30-year-old Alan Garrod have been charged with Dealing a Controlled Substance Resulting in a Death. 


Their arrests were part of a seven-month investigation to combat illegal drugs in Union County. 


Investigators did not specify who was the victim of the overdose.


The Union County Sheriff's Office worked with the Indiana State Police, Oxford, Ohio Police, Butler County, Ohio Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshal’s during the investigation.
