(BATESVILLE, Ind.) -- Two people were rushed to the hospital following a crash involving two cars and a motorcycle on Monday afternoon.

The crash happened around 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 46 and Tekulve Road.

Investigators say Charles Peters, of Laurel, was on a motorcycle and traveling west on S.R. 46 when a sport utility vehicle turned out in front of Peters.

The crash forced the sport utility vehicle, driven by Benjamin Thomasson, of Batesville, into another vehicle that was parked at the traffic light. The driver of the third vehicle was not hurt.

Peters and Thomasson were taken to Margaret Mary Health for their injuries. Peters was later airlifted to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The Batesville Police Department, assisted by the Indiana State Police, continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
