Happened in New Albany
(NEW ALBANY, Ind.) -- A Corydon Central football player was killed in what police say was a "senseless act of violence" on Saturday night.
18-year-old Bryce Gerlach was at the Harvest Homecoming Festival in New Albany when shots rung out.
Gerlach died from his injuries while two others were also injured.
Investigators believe Gerlach and the other victims were innocent bystanders, and not connected to the reason for the shooting.
Police are searching for the suspects as witnesses said there were multiple shooters.
Corydon Central is holding a team meeting before opening up the gym to the community Sunday night.
There is also a vigil planned along with resources for community members.
