(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – The Versailles community will host “Home for the Holidays” on Saturday, December 7.
It kicks off with a ceremony honoring the anniversary of Pearl Harbor which you can learn more by clicking here.
Vendors and the food market will open following the ceremony.
“ Our Holiday Market with local vendors will be around the Courthouse square along with our very supportive local businesses. Food and drinks will be available at the Versailles Lions club house, Michael Eddy’s Food Truck, White Rabbit Lounge and an ice cream wagon,” organizers said.
That will be followed by the Holiday Hustle 5K which will take place at 4 p.m. which is sponsored by the South Ripley Music Department.
Starting at 6 p.m., there will be ice sculpting, reindeer, and a light parade that starts at the Tyson Activity Center. The parade will make its way to Hensley Park where the tree lighting ceremony will be held.
“Each family can pick up a holiday card at the Main Street Versailles booth in front of Town Hall. They take the cards to 16 stops around the square and get at least 8 stickers, returning the card to receive one free 2024 holiday ornament, made in Ripley County by Tim Weberding, Organizers added.
The fun continues with free activities for the kids face painting, cookie decorating, ornament craft and s’more station. Additional exciting happenings will be Trolley rides including stops and pick ups at Tyson Methodist Church where there will be tours of this historic Landmark.
“The South Ripley Ministerial group will host a live nativity with the tremendous support of sponsors this year we will have live reindeer from Whitetail acres in Brookville and live ice sculpting demonstration from Rock on Ice,” they added.
