We're celebrating this Moores Hill native!
We're celebrating Kelly Keith of Vevay who was nominated by another veteran in her family, her sister Kerry.
Keith served as in the Army for seven years with a tour in Iraq as well as being on the Culture Support Team with Special Forces in Afghanistan.
During her service time she obtained the ranking of Sergeant.
Kelly and her sister also spent time stationed in Hohenfels, Germany and then Ft. Campbell with 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne).
"We were paratroopers and had many jumps together," Kerry said.
Here's a photo of both sisters in a military plane during their service time:
"Whatever she did in the military she always exceeded at it. Whether that’s physical training, missions, or just being a great NCO/leader. Even though we were at the same level, I still always looked up to her and was proud of everything she accomplished," Kerry added.
Following the military, Kelly served her as a law enforcement officer with the Ohio County Sheriff's Department for a couple years.
She is now pursing a career in cosmetology and will graduate in December. She is married with 5 kids and devotes her life to her family.
We truly appreciate your service to the country and community both Kelly and Kerry! THANK YOU!
