Vevay painter raises $20K for nonprofits in 2024

Using her passion to help others

(VEVAY, Ind.) – A Vevay resident has used her talent and passion to make a substantial difference in the community this year.

Billy Pierce creates artwork and the profits go toward nonprofits in Switzerland County.

The initiative began after Pierce found painting as a form of therapy following a personal tragedy in 2015.

She was shocked when someone offered to buy her painting. If people wanted to purchase her work, she felt the money should go to a good cause.

The person who buys her painting gets the opportunity to select a nonprofit deserving of a donation.

Billie’s Painting With Purpose has raised over $20,000 for Switzerland County nonprofits in 2024 alone.

Her paintings have supported a wide variety of community organizations, programs, first responders, churches and more.

She credits the YMCA and the Switzerland County Community Art Center for being some of the firsts to display her work.

Since December of 2022, Billie’s Painting With Purpose has raised over $35,000. She gives thanks to her friends, family, and the Switzerland County community.

Here is some of her work over the past few months:
