Community members prayed for the mother and her kids
(BRIGHT, Ind.) -- The community of Bright came together to mourn the loss of a mother who was allegedly killed by her husband.
40-year-old Stacy Mondal was shot seven times in a vehicle by her husband, Mohammed Mondal, on Monday, according to Dearborn County authorities.
Stacy was a mother of five children who range in ages of 17-years-old to 2-months-old.
"I think it's important for us to remember that what they're going through is a grief that possibly most of us have never experienced before, we've all lost somebody in our lives, but this tragedy is something many of us can't even comprehend," said Father Jonathon Meyer with All Saints Parish.
The church organized a vigil for the loved ones and friends of Stacy and her children on Wednesday night.
Hundreds of community members also joined in a prayer walk that went from St. Teresa Benedicta Church to the home of the Mondal family.
Right now, there are some fundraisers underway for the Mondal's which you can learn more by clicking here.
