(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-1 tornado in Franklin County Tuesday night.

It happened east of Brookville at the Hickory Woods Campground.Several cars, trailers and buildings were damaged and there were other debris.

The storms last night led to numerous tornado warnings along with some damage. There is also a threat for severe weather tonight.

Chad Gutzwiller with Weather Wave says there could be more storms tonight in Southeast Indiana.

“I think any storms that do develop this evening will be capable of producing large hail, damaging winds, frequent lightning, and heavy rain,” Gutzwiller said.

There is a chance of tornadoes but it appears to be a low-end threat.

However, he believes it is a low threat to see tornadic activity.

“Now, it could be a different story in Kentucky and Tennessee,” he added.
