Young mother provides life advice in her obituary

Her obituary is going viral

(VIRGINIA) – A Virginia mom who battled cancer wrote her own obituary which has been shared around Southeast Indiana and beyond. 

39-year-old Valerie Ann Smith passed away on June 20 in the community of Meadows of Dan, Virginia. 

She started off by saying she finally won her cancer battle, while sharing that life doesn’t always go as planned and also wrote about the importance of spending time with family. 

“Death at 39 years of age was never in my 5 or 10 year plan, or even my 15 or 20 year plan. Especially not with 3 babies still at home, in the best years of my marriage and at the height of my career,” Smith said.
